Carlos Torres

SCREENWRITER ACTOR FILM PRODUCER

Carlos Torres is a Screenwriter, Actor and Film Producer. Born to a Puerto Rican mother and father, he split his childhood between San Juan, Puerto Rico and Chicago, Illinois. Being a keen observer of the world around him influenced and made him want to explore his artistry. He was inspired by listening to hip-hop artists such as 2Pac, Scarface and Nas. “With their lyrical storytelling ability, when he heard it, it was as if he was listening to a movie as the song lyrics paint the scene. And that’s when the birth of screenwriting began. Carlos started by going to the store to buy multiple books on how to write movies and television shows. Then, he spent multiple hours learning and studying the craft of filmmaking. In 2016, Carlos wrote, produced, and starred in his first short film, “Game of Redemption.” The project garnered so much positive feedback that it landed him on the radar of other actors and indie filmmakers wanting to work and collaborate with him. However, his filmmaking endeavors didn’t stop there. In 2018, Carlos released another short film called “The Warrant,” for which the project won an award for Best Action Short Film at the New York International Action Film Festival. Also, in 2019, it was selected and nominated for Best Drama at the Los Angeles International Film Festival.

Continuing to build upon his body of work, Carlos releases his first web series, “Meet Karma,” a story about a psychiatrist who, while helping her clients deal with the struggles of everyday life. But unfortunately, she secretly helps make their problems disappear by using violence.

“It’s all about the creativity for me.” He explains. “Anybody can write a script. But not everybody can tell a story. So I want to be the type of filmmaker where every time my name pops up on your tv screen or your electronic devices, I want you to say, Oh, Carlos Torres created this? I know it's going to be good”. He grins.

Carlos has built such a stellar name for himself to where he caught the attention of YouTube Content creator Kinigra Deon. Together they’ve collaborated on multiple comedy sketches where Carlos wrote “Blind Date,” “The Other Woman,” “When Your Girl Can’t Cook,” and “The Lazy Employees.” Carlos even wrote Kinigra’s first short film crime drama, “The Perfect Steal.” Altogether the videos have surpassed well over 1,000,000+ plus views combined.

Carlos is committed to growing and elevating with every single project he does to become a household name with a tremendous legacy he wants to leave behind. He enjoys every moment of traveling on this journey and hopes you will too.
